We're all waiting for something. Right? And even when we get the things we're waiting for, there's always something else we're longing for. Then, I reckon, after that thing comes, I'm pretty sure there'll be something else. Crazy hey. But what do we do, when the desires of our hearts are delayed? How should we manage and navigate this sometimes "oh-so tricky" and challenging journey called "the wait"? Is there a simple answer? Well, yes. :)
I'm currently writing this in the middle of the night, in Vancouver, en route to Alaska. I've been feeling unwell all week, and I can't sleep because I'm actually feeling pretty yukky now. :( But, as I sit here I am thankful for fingers to write, for hands to type, for eyes to see and the words to pen. I'm thankful for seasons, and for travelling opportunities, and for family and friends. I'm thankful for food to eat and clean water to drink. I'm thankful that the One who created the universe, holds your life and mine in his hands, and he sees the grand plan and knows what he is doing.
"We are assured and know, that with God, being a partner in our labour, all things work together and are fitting into a plan for good for us who love him and are called according to his design and purpose." Romans 8:28 (AMP)
All it takes is a mindset shift. A Millisecond. And in the millisecond, something happens. The moment we cultivate gratitude, thankfulness flows, and along with it, freedom. Freedom to take in the joy of a moment slowed down "under the microscope" rather than seeing it as a fleeting blip "on the way" to something greater. Let's stop and enjoy the view.
So I pray this brings you encouragement this week sweet friend. I, too, am waiting on many things, many hearts desires. I know you are too. So let's encourage one another hey. :) As we focus on the blessings hidden for us today, we will see that great and unspeakable joy is always available to us, no matter what our season.
Be blessed and filled with joy my lovely friend. Sending love from Vancouver... We are heading to Alaska tomorrow so I will be in touch soon. Praying for you. :)
