4 ways to keep going.

10 August, 2015

Hi friends! Happy Monday :) Well I am here to inspire you again for your week! When I woke this morning my mind was filllllllllllllled with overwhelming thoughts... { yuk } and as I lay there, thinking how annoying it was that I was feeling like this, suddenly the BIG dreamer rose up in me and said...

"Nat. This is RIDICULOUS. You literally don't have time for a battle in your mind".

Here we are, 7 billion of us, on this earth. We're all busy with life, and wanting to see all the dreams in our hearts come to pass, so who has time to deal with negative thoughts?! So I grabbed my bible and opened to Psalms. It one moment, God's promises released hope and I felt my mind enlarge, ready and inspired for the day. :)

We always have a choice. So this morning I made two choices: to believe that "This is the day God has made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it!" (Psalm 118:24)... and for surprises and great doors of opportunity to open. As I write this blog, since this morning, there have actually already been two incredible opportunities that have been presented to me. So I just wanted to share how I encourage myself to keep going on this road to achieving my dreams... :)

4 ways to keep chasing your dreams:

1. Keep pushing the door.

When doors don't seem to be opening, keep knocking. The greatest success stories come after great failures and discouragements. One of my greatest inspirations is Walt Disney. Walt was actually fired by a newspaper editor because "he lacked imagination and had no good ideas." He went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland. In fact, the proposed park was rejected by the city of Anaheim on the grounds that it would only attract riffraff. (Source)

Doesn't that sound crazy, given what we know about his creativity and success today?  But he NEVER gave up and kept pushing that door until it flung open in front of him.

2. Keep asking.

This past month I have been pursuing an opportunity I have felt will really catapult me into a new realm of seeing my dreams happen. Three times I have knocked on the door and asked questions, but the door seemed closed. I just knew in my heart that it was something I needed to keep pursuing, so after three failed attempts I tried again this morning. I prayed and just thanked God for opening the door and for his favour. Not ten minutes later I received a response and now discussions have begun.

We HAVE to be bold! I was thinking to myself, "I can't possibly contact them again, they will think I am just on their backs the whole time!" Exactly. THAT'S what makes things happen. We have to feel the fear, not care what anyone will think, and do it anyway!

"Give it everything you have, heart and soul... Haven't I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don't be timid; don't get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take."
Joshua 1:5-9

3. Keep declaring abundance.

Even when lack is all we see, abundance is always available. Let us open our eyes today. Surprises and wonder and adventure are OURS for the taking. This morning I wrote out on a piece of paper: "Surprises for Today" and then I put four dots, where at the end of the day I will write four surprises down. I've already got two things for the list... and I'm expecting two more. ;) Expectation releases abundance.

4. Keep putting yourself out there.

Even if you have tried and tried a million zillion times, keep putting yourself out there. I am a voicoever artist, and I have to keep emailing studios, reminding them I am here. Sometimes I think... "Am I being annoying?!", but to get results, we need to keep knocking, keep asking, keep expecting abundance and keep putting ourselves out there.

You are amazing and the world needs what YOU have to give. Dreaming take boldness and confidence, but you have everything in you to succeed! You are going to have a brilliant week FULL of surprises. I'm thinking of you all lots as I am in the final weeks of finishing the Anything Can Happen manuscript... Can't wait for you to read it. It's been a lonnnnnng journey and I still am not sure of how it's all going to come together, BUT... I will keep pushing this door until it's published. Watch this space. xo

Always, always cheering you on :)

Love Nat

Nat, it is so nice to now that when I'm having a lousy start to the day, I love knowing I can come here and be inspired to remember that there is always something to look forward to, something beautiful to see, and hope for change. Thank you for your words once again ????

Oh Sarah that is such a lovely thing to say :) Thank you my friend. Ah yes... haha -- it just goes to show we are all the same doesn't it! We all have yukko days, feel horrible and can't see the road ahead... BUT we encourage each other and we lift our eyes. Thank God for friendships hey :) What would we do without them! Sending BIG love to you my friend... Praying for surprises through your day and that it is sprinkled with hope.

    Love Nat xoxox
