Our job is the "what." Not the "how."

07 September, 2015

Kids don't think about "how" before they dream. Imagine that. "Mum, I just need to work out "how" I would actually save the world, before I dress up and become Superman?" Or the little girl... "Daddy, I need to check my birth certificate and really know that I am an actual princess before I dress up like one." Ummmm... no way. They just dream. Deep down inside they KNOW they were created for greatness, so they imagine BIG.

So what's happened with us? What's happening since we've grown up and become big, mature adults? Where's this extravagant dreaming gone? And why do we need to know the "HOW" before we dream? It's so silly when you think about it. Fear and lack are such dream killers. "I would love to travel one day, but I don't have enough money, so I can't really dream that. I would love to record an album, but I don't know how, so I won't dream it." Where did this small thinking come from? Cos it certainly wasn't how we were created. The dreams and desires in our hearts are big. And they were placed there by God. So if he put them in there, then he has already made way for them to happen.

"God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams." (Ephesians 3:20)

Our job is the what

God's job is the how.

The moment we question "HOW" something can possibly happen, we limit ourselves and our ability to dream is squashed. Fear comes in and our thinking shrinks. We just can't afford to think like this anymore. No no no. So it's time to throw away the "how" and dream like little kids. Free to imagine. Safe to think big. Especially when we can't see how. :) I'm not saying it's always easy, or to live in a fantasty world where we expect things to just happen without doing any work. No. Dreaming big takes HARD work and much sacrifice. But thankfully we are not alone. We have access to divine creativity to help us move forward in our dreams. :) When we dream big, we partner with God. And "with him, anything is possible." ;)

Brand new things are happening this week. Surprises are waiting. So set aside moments each day to stop and dream. Becuase at any moment anything can happen.

I am cheering you on in all you do! If there is anything you'd love to hear me share more about on my blog (any topics, "how to's", or parts of my journey) please let me know. My heart is to help you dream bigger, and to see things you may not be able to see... so if you have any ideas just let me know. :)

Have a fab week!

Love Nat xo
